Adding Material to a Job from a PO using Epicor 9 or Epicor 10 is easy. Just follow the steps below.
Some manufacturing companies have a need to add or update Job Material from purchasing. In Epicor this is possible with the correct settings.
For example, if you’re purchasing folks are more involved in the sourcing of materials for custom jobs than your engineering folks or if you’re engineering people also handle the sourcing of product. Using this capability, as they are cutting purchase orders for jobs, they can apply those purchase orders to the jobs.
Another scenario might be if you don’t know which part number you’ll be using when you create the job and need to await to see availability and pricing through your purchasing process and that will designate the specific part on the job. Perhaps you can buy components that are very similar from different suppliers such as plywood, but have different specific part numbers or qualities. Again, this allows you to create the PO and use it on the job in one step instead of two.
To use this capability in a job use the following instructions:
If you note in the Job below it only has one material “SS-125”.
